DARTMOUTH COLLEGE

The Special Community Student High School Program at Dartmouth College allows eligible seniors to take one course per term during the fall, winter and spring terms. Juniors may enroll during winter and spring terms only. Eligible students must have exhausted the curricular alternatives at their local school. Students must be recommended by their high school principal, counselor or other school official. Tuition for this program is free, however students are responsible for their books and transportation.

VERMONT TECHNICAL COLLEGE (VTC)

Vermont Technical College offers two options to students who are interested in taking coursework at VTC. The Accelerated Enrollment Program is available to academically motivated high school juniors and seniors who wish to take college courses during their final two years before graduation. Students accepted into this program may take one course for free. Students may enroll in any college level course for which they qualify.

Eligible students may also take approved courses for a reduced tuition rate. Students interested in either of these programs should see their school counselor for further requirements and to obtain an application.

INTRODUCTION TO COLLEGE STUDIES AT COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF VERMONT (CCV)

Introduction to College Studies is a free course available each semester through the Community College of Vermont. This course provides high school students with an introduction to the college experience and the opportunity to explore the skills and expectations required at the college level. Students work on goal setting, time management, stress management, study skills, communication skills, and learning to seek and use informational resources. This course is also an opportunity to gain valuable information about the college application process, financial aid, and personal financial management. This course is generally offered in a 13- week session with classes meeting one afternoon a week for two hours. The successful completion of this course makes students eligible to receive a voucher to take a free 3-credit class at any of the Vermont State Colleges (Lyndon State, Johnson State, Castleton State, and Vermont Tech).

THE VERMONT ACADEMY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (VAST)
