Dual Enrollment

The Vermont Dual Enrollment Program allows students to take two college courses, free of charge, at 20 participating Vermont institutions.  Students may also take additional courses at a reduced rate of tuition. There are on campus and on line options available.

The following courses are currently offered at RUHS for dual enrollment credit through the Community College of Vermont:

Credit for Spanish 2 can be gained through River Valley Community College in Ms Talos' class. Please contact the teachers about the possibility of gaining dual enrollment credit in their courses.

The Early College Program allows students to enroll at a college, completing their senior year of high school and freshman year of college simultaneously, tuition free.  Available at CCV, Lyndon State, Johnson State, Castleton State, Vermont Tech (Vermont Academy of Science and Technology) and Burlington College.

Dartmouth College Special Community Student High School Program allows eligible seniors to take one free course per term (fall, winter spring) and eligible juniors to take one free course during the winter or spring terms.

Community College of Vermont’s Introduction to College Studies, offered at RUHS, allows sophomores, juniors and seniors to develop strategies for college success.  Students do not gain college credit for this course. 

RUHS is also exploring other dual enrollment options with a number of institutions.
