Meet Matt Dragon
Matt will be teaching Agricultural Technology at RTCC this coming year.
A native of Pennsylvania, Matt earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Northland College in Outdoor Education, with an Emphasis in Natural History. Since graduation he has lived and worked across the United States.
“I have taught, worked, and volunteered with many different educational programs,” he said, “as well as for non-profits such as the Student Conservation Association, the Forest Service and the National Park Service. I’ve done wild land firefighting, trail work, wildlife research, maintenance, sugaring, & farming.”
“My wife teaches in South Royalton,” he added, “and last year, I had the opportunity to volunteer at RTCC. I found the students and staff to be wonderful to work with, and I’m really looking forward to sharing some of the real world experiences I’ve had with students.”
When he’s not in the classroom, Matt enjoys hiking, exploring the woods, fly fishing, going on adventures with his family, growing and harvesting what he can from the land, blacksmithing and using and putting traditional tools, like crosscut saws, back to work.
