The Orange Southwest Supervisory Union (OSSU) is continuing to prepare for implementation of what are generally known as “Common Core Standards (CCS)”. The CCS initiative began with the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers and was adopted in Vermont in an attempt to establish consistent educational standards across the nation.
Longtime Braintree Principal Nancy Frenette retired at the end of the 2014 academic year. Starting July 1, the three elementary schools in the Orange Southwest Supervisory Union will be administered by a team of three principals— Erica McLaughlin and Pat Miller, who have been co-principals at Randolph Elementary, and Susan McKelvie, who served this year as Brookfield’s principal.
