Orange Southwest Policies and Procedures Overview
The Orange Southwest Supervisory Union establishes policies and procedures that govern all aspects of education, employment, and the general operation of its schools to ensure that its students and employees; as well as members of the general public; are treated fairly, equitably, and respectfully.
The OSSU is also governed by and subject to federal, state, and local policies and procedures.
Federal Policies
Required by federal law of all public school districts. Federally required policies are consistent and common across the Orange Southwest Supervisory Union and are adopted by each local board as well as the supervisory union board.
State Policies
Required by state law of all public school districts. State required policies are consistent and common across the Orange Southwest Supervisory Union and are adopted by each local board as well as the supervisory union board.

Local Policies
Locally developed policies are consistent and common to all schools in the Orange Southwest Supervisory Union. They are adopted by each local board as well as the supervisory union board. The boards adopted policies based on the Policy Governance® model.
