Ski Program News: Yup…the first, after-school ski day was held on Wednesday. Despite the 40+ degree temperatures, rain and “challenging” snow conditions, nearly half the school’s students enjoyed the afternoon on the snow…ice…slush. Again, thanks to all the volunteers’ efforts and the hard work of Kym Anderson and Jenny Beaudin, the afternoon was a great success. Reminder: Please remember to have your child bring his/her dry boots back to school for next week’s ski session.
Important Odyssey of the Mind Update: Please note that Odyssey of the Mind will start its after-school program on Thursday February 9th. Odyssey of the Mind will be held every Thursday after school unless school is not in session or is canceled. There was an error on the permission slip. The program will be on Thursdays after school, not on Mondays. Additional copies of the permission slip are available in the school office from Ms. Alexander. They are due on Monday.
Puppets Workshops: The next stage in our puppet residency starts
on Monday. This is the puppet making
stage where each student will create his/her own special puppet. This will cover five days of work. Following this, we will begin our rehearsals
on the 14th, with an eye on our performances on February 22nd. We received the soundtracks from our work two
weeks ago…and the students and staff sound fantastic!
Bus and Driveway Safety: At least twice a day, school busses load and unload students in the driveway of the school. This is a reminder that passing a bus that has flashers on, even if it is not on the road, is prohibited and could result in a traffic ticket and fine. Thank you for being particularly careful while driving through our driveway.
