RU bowling well-represented at individual state tournament

This past Saturday February, 25th the Randolph Union High School bowling team had five members who represented RU at the Vermont High School Individual State Bowling Tournament at Champlain Lanes in Shelburne. CJ Philbrick, Kolby Carpenter, Logan Lumbra, Jarid Wheeler and Joseph Warner all represented RU as five of the top thirty-two high school bowlers in the state, rolling off against one other to see who would be crowned the top bowler for the 2016-17 winter season.

In the first round, each roller had to roll three games. Joseph Warner rolled an impressive three game series of 668 total pin fall with games of 190, 266, 212. Logan Lumbrd had a 608 three-game series total pin fall with games of 185, 220, 203. After these first three games, Joseph seeded second behind #1 seed from Springfield, Matt Power. Logan seeded sixth, while Kolby seeded 15th entering the Sweet Sixteen round of play.

In this round, #2 seed Warner rolled head-to-head aginst #15 seed Carpenter in a single-game round of play. Carpenter defeated Warner 223-211. Carpenter went on to roll against #1 seed Cody Seaver of Fair Haven, losing to the eventual state tournament champion. Lumbra went on to claim third place.

RU travels to Twin City Lanes in Barre, Vermont this coming Saturday March, 4th to compete in the Team State Tournament. The tournament starts at 10 AM. Please come out and support the Ghosts Bowling Team!
